Bush was formed in London in 1992 by Gavin Rossdale and Nigel Pulsford. The band rose to fame during the mid-1990s, becoming one of the most commercially successful rock bands of the decade with the release of their debut album, Sixteen Stone, in 1994. This album went multi-platinum, buoyed by hit singles such as “Glycerine” and “Machinehead.” Over the years, Bush has released eight studio albums and undergone several lineup changes. They briefly disbanded in 2002 but reunited in 2010 and have continued to produce music and tour since.
Gavin Rossdale
Gavin Rossdale is the founder, lead vocalist, and rhythm guitarist of Bush, and he has been involved with the band since its inception in 1992. He has played on all of Bush’s albums, from their debut, Sixteen Stone, to their latest releases, including The Kingdom (2020). Rossdale’s distinctive voice and songwriting have been central to Bush’s identity and success. Outside of Bush, he released a solo album, WANDERlust, in 2008 and has acted in various films and television shows.
Nigel Pulsford
Nigel Pulsford was the original lead guitarist of Bush, joining the band at its formation in 1992 and staying until 2002. He played on all Bush albums up to Golden State. His melodic guitar style was a key component of the band’s sound during their peak years. After leaving Bush, Pulsford focused on family life and largely stepped away from the music industry, choosing not to return to the band when they reunited in 2010.
Dave Parsons
Dave Parsons was the bassist for Bush from their formation in 1992 until the initial breakup in 2002. He appeared on all the band’s albums during this period, contributing to the rhythm section that supported Bush’s grunge-inspired sound. Like Pulsford, Parsons did not return to Bush after their 2010 reunion. He previously played in the punk band Transvision Vamp.
Robin Goodridge
Robin Goodridge joined Bush as the drummer in 1992 and remained with the band until their breakup in 2002, contributing to all albums released during this time. He rejoined the band for their 2010 reunion and has been a part of all subsequent recordings and tours. Outside of Bush, Goodridge has played with other bands, most notably with Elyss.
Chris Traynor
Chris Traynor became involved with Bush in 2002 as the lead guitarist during the Golden State tour after Nigel Pulsford decided to leave the band. Traynor had previously worked with Gavin Rossdale on his solo projects. When Bush reformed in 2010, Traynor returned as the lead guitarist and has since been a regular member, contributing to The Sea of Memories (2011) and all following albums.
Corey Britz
Corey Britz was added as the bassist for Bush in 2010, ahead of their reunion and subsequent album releases. His first studio album with the band was The Sea of Memories in 2011. Britz brought a new element to the band’s sound, contributing not only as a bassist but also with backing vocals, keyboards, and additional guitars.
