Rising from the city of Bath, England, PinkPantheress has rapidly made a name for herself as one of the defining voices of contemporary British pop and electronic music. Born in 2001, she moved to Kent at a young age and later attended the University of the Arts London. Her musical interests took shape early on, with a background in piano and singing in school. She started producing and recording music while still a student, gradually building a following online.
PinkPantheress first began sharing snippets of her tracks on TikTok in 2020, where her concise, sample-heavy style immediately caught attention. These viral moments, including the songs “Break It Off” and “Pain,” established her as an artist to watch and brought millions of streams on Spotify and other platforms. Her music blends elements of drum and bass, UK garage, and bedroom pop, and her approach to sampling 2000s and 90s hits became a central aspect of her sound.
Her debut mixtape, To Hell with It, was released in October 2021 through Parlophone and Elektra Records. The mixtape included breakout tracks such as “Pain,” “Just for Me,” and “Break It Off.” “Just for Me” in particular became a top 40 hit in the United Kingdom, and the mixtape received strong critical attention, charting at number twenty on the UK Albums Chart. This project positioned her as a new force in British pop and electronic circles.
PinkPantheress’s single “Boy’s a Liar,” released in November 2022, became her highest-charting single, peaking at number two on the UK Singles Chart and reaching number three on the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States. A remix of “Boy’s a Liar” featuring rapper Ice Spice achieved worldwide recognition and was credited as a breakthrough for both artists in the United States. The track’s chart success made PinkPantheress a globally recognized artist and expanded her fanbase well beyond the UK.
Her debut studio album, Heaven Knows, arrived in November 2023. The album featured collaborations with artists such as Central Cee, Rema, and Kelela. Heaven Knows reached number three on the UK Albums Chart and was supported by singles including “Mosquito” and “Capable of Love.” The record further demonstrated her ability to evolve musically and maintain a strong presence in the competitive world of international pop.
PinkPantheress has received several major nominations and awards in recognition of her work. She won the BBC’s Sound of 2022 poll, which spotlights up-and-coming talent in the UK music industry. She has also been nominated for the Brit Award for Song of the Year for “Boy’s a Liar Pt. 2” and for Best New Artist at the Brit Awards. Her chart achievements and critical attention have led to appearances at festivals and collaborations with other prominent figures in music.
Beyond her recorded output, PinkPantheress has performed at major music festivals and events, including Coachella in 2023. She has also toured internationally and participated in campaigns with major brands. In addition to her musical activities, PinkPantheress is known for maintaining a sense of mystery around her personal life and identity, rarely revealing personal details in interviews or on social media.
PinkPantheress continues to build on her early success with ongoing recording, touring, and collaborations. Her discography includes the mixtape To Hell with It (2021) and her studio album Heaven Knows (2023), along with several hit singles and remixes.
