The Subways were formed in 2002 in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire. The original lineup consisted of Billy Lunn (vocals, guitar), Charlotte Cooper (bass, vocals), and Josh Morgan (drums). Morgan stepped away from the band in 2020, and the current lineup features Camille Phillips on drums alongside Lunn and Cooper. They quickly gained recognition for their energetic live performances and dynamic rock sound, characterized by catchy hooks and raw power. The Subways rose to fame after winning Glastonbury Festival’s Unsigned Performers Competition, which led to an appearance at the festival in 2004. This exposure was pivotal in launching their career.

The band has released five studio albums: Young for Eternity (2005), All or Nothing (2008), Money and Celebrity (2011), The Subways (2015), and Uncertain Joys (2023). Their debut album, Young for Eternity, was well-received and noted for its vibrant energy and the hit single “Rock & Roll Queen,” which became a staple on alternative rock radio and featured in several television shows and movies, enhancing their international profile. All or Nothing, their second album, produced by Butch Vig, furthered their success, charting in multiple countries and solidifying their position in the rock music scene. Young for Eternity is the debut studio album by British rock band The Subways. All or Nothing (2008)

All or Nothing, the second studio album by The Subways, was produced by Butch Vig, famed for his work with Nirvana and Smashing Pumpkins. The Subways (2015)

The album was recorded and produced by Billy Lunn in his Hertfordshire studio, mixed by Adrian Bushby, and mastered by Katie Tavini. Founding drummer Josh Morgan completed drum contributions for the album before stepping away from the band in 2020; Camille Phillips subsequently became The Subways’ permanent drummer.
