Tucker Wetmore is an American country singer-songwriter from Kalama, Washington, whose rise came quickly after years spent balancing music with athletics. He grew up around gospel music, reggae at family gatherings, and the soft rock of artists such as the Eagles, Jim Croce, and Billy Joel. Wetmore began learning piano when he was 11, but sports soon became his main focus. A college football injury eventually changed that path and pushed him back toward music.
After returning home to Washington, Wetmore began writing songs seriously and moved to Nashville in 2020 to pursue a career as a songwriter and performer. His first independent releases arrived in 2021 with “Kiss My A$$,” “Another Shot,” and “She’s Trouble.” He signed with Back Blocks Music in 2023 and later entered a major-label partnership with UMG Nashville. Those early releases showed the mix of country storytelling, modern hooks, and baritone vocals that would become central to his sound.
Wetmore’s commercial breakthrough arrived in 2024 with “Wine Into Whiskey” and “Wind Up Missin’ You,” two songs that pushed him onto the Billboard charts and introduced him to a much larger audience. That same year, he contributed “Already Had It” and “Steal My Thunder” with Conner Smith to Twisters: The Album, made his Grand Ole Opry debut, and released his first eight-song project, Waves On A Sunset. The EP also included “Silverado Blue,” “You, Honey,” “Break First,” “When I Ain’t Lookin’,” “What Would You Do?,” and “Mister Miss Her.” By the end of the year, Wetmore had established himself as one of the fastest-rising new voices in contemporary country music.
Wetmore released his 19-song debut studio album, What Not To, in April 2025, expanding his catalog with songs including “3,2,1,” “Casino,” “Brunette,” “Bad Habit,” and the title track. He also recorded an Apple Music Nashville Sessions release and appeared on collaborations with Thomas Rhett and BigXthaPlug. In 2026, he followed with “Sunburn,” “Who Told You That,” and the six-song Sunburn Mixtape, which added “Crazy To Yourself,” “98%,” and “Yours” to his catalog. His music continues to combine traditional country storytelling with the rock, pop, reggae, and hip-hop influences that surrounded him while he was growing up.
