Tears For Fears who ruled the world in the 1980s have announced they they will be touring in 2022 in support of their new album entitled The Tipping Point. The duo of Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith recently announced that their new album entitled The Tipping Point would be released on February 25, 2022. The band has not released an album in seventeen years. Tears For Fears‘ last original release was issued in 2004 entitled Everybody Loves a Happy Ending. Tears For Fears never intended to go that long without releasing new music but as they said recently, sometimes life just gets in the way. Tears For Fears 2022 tour will start in the Spring in the United States. The tour opener will begin in the great state of Ohio. Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith will hit the stage for the first time in a very long time in the city of Cincinnati on May 20 at the  Riverbend Music Center. On the very next day they take a long ride through Ohio all the way north to Cleveland where they will perform at the Blossom Music Center.

The Tears For Fears concerts will occur mostly at outside theaters as the list of venues on the tour schedule are all made up of pavilions and amphitheaters. After Tears For Fears starts out there  tour in Cleveland they will hop on a plane and fly south all the way to Texas where they will perform in Dallas at the The Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory. Tears For Fears will then fly west making stops in Phoenix Arizona and Denver Colorado before landing in California during the first week of June and hitting all the big cities like Los Angeles, San Diego, Mountain View and Concord. Tears For Fears will then ride the Western tailwinds back across the United States heading east and south and beginning  the second half of the US tour in the sunny State of Florida.

Starting with a show in West Palm Beach Florida they will then ride up the coast and perform at Tampa’s MIDFLORIDA Credit Union Amphitheater on June 10. Then it’s into the land of peaches and pecans in the beautiful state of Georgia playing at Atlantis Ameris Bank Amphitheater. They will continue up the East Coast still heading north to Charlotte North Carolina to perform at the PNC music Pavilion. Tears For Fears will take another long plane ride and take a long trip up to Michigan where they will perform in Detroit and then down into Chicago and then a little further south into Indianapolis. The US portion of the tour will end on the East Coast as Tears For Fears play shows in Philadelphia, Boston, and New Jersey before finishing up in New York at Long Island’s Northwell Health at Jones Beach Theater on June 25th 2022.

Touring with Tears For Fears in the United States will be the fabulous band Garbage who have constantly been touring over the past twenty years. What a great lineup that will be. We are assuming a third band will probably be added to the show as an opening act as Tears For Fears and Garbage will probably switch off who goes on first and second every night. Once the United States section of the tour wraps up, Tears For Fears will fly across the Atlantic for a series of concerts in the United Kingdom where they will be touring with the sensational Alison Moyet.

According to Roland Orzabal the upcoming Tears For Fears concerts will feature many songs from the new album as well as all of the fans favorite Tears For Fears songs.

Tears For Fears are originally from the city of Bath, England. The duo released their first album entitled The Hurting in 1983. The group found huge success with their first release as The Hurting hit number one in the United Kingdom. However it was with the release of their second album in 1985 entitled Songs from the Big Chair that ignited the band to become international stars. The album spawned two huge singles in the songs “Everybody Wants to Rule the World” and Shout. Both songs would go all the way to number one on the Billboard Hot 100. They would become the band’s signature songs.

We look forward to the band’s new album and the opportunity to see them perform once again. We will see you in New York ……
