The album was released in 2001. On this song and album, Britney Spears attempted to escape her teen image even though she was still technically a teenager at the time when she released this song at 19 years old. Still, this was a radical departure in her music in some ways. The song was released as the album’s lead single as well as being placed as the first song on the CD setting the tone for a new more adult oriented Britney Spears sound.
