They have won numerous awards throughout their career. They have sold over 28 million albums worldwide. They have written over 200 songs. Some of their hits include “Oh L’amour,” “Sometimes,” “Breathe,” “Solsbury Hill,” “Victim of Love,” “The Circus,” “Ship of Fools,” “Chains of Love,” “A Little Respect,” “Love to Hate You,” “Star,” “Breath of Life,” “Always,” “Run to the Sun,” as well as others. Gloria Gaynor and ABBA are some of Erasure’s influences.

Vince Clarke was no stranger to the music business. He was a founding member of the band Depeche Mode. He was also in the duo Yazoo with Alison Moyet. After they recorded two albums, they broke up. He was looking to work with someone new, so he put an advertisement in a magazine. He was looking for a vocalist for his next musical project. Andy Bell answered the ad and auditioned for him. The album peaked at number one on the UK and Independent charts and number49 on Billboard 200. It features the singles “Ship of Fools,” “Chains of Love,” “A Little Respect” and “Phantom Bride.” The album sold over five million copies worldwide. This is their best-selling album to date. Wild! was released in October 1989. The album peaked at number one on the UK and Independent charts and number 57 on Billboard 200. It features the singles “Drama!,” “You Surround Me,” “Blue Savannah” and “Star.” The album sold over 600,000 copies in the UK.

Chorus was released in October 1991. The album peaked at number one on the UK charts and number 29 on Billboard 200. It features the singles “Chorus,” “Love to Hate You,” “Am I Right?” and “Breath of Life.” The album went platinum in the UK. I Say I Say I Say was released in May 1994.
