There is nothing like adding a little Foghat to any list. It feels good to present a Foghat recording on our Top 10 Songs With The Name Linda In The Title list. Foghat’s cover of “Linda Lou” was released on the album Zig-Zag Walk. The album was released in 1983. The band is smoking on this one, as they usually were on any track they released. Foghat at the time consisted of Dave Peverett on lead and backing vocals and rhythm guitar, Erik Cartwright on lead guitar and slide guitar, Eli Jenkins on bass, backing vocals, and keyboards, and our friend Roger Earl on drums.

Just off the top spot on our Top 10 Songs With The Name Linda In The Title list, we have some fun with one of the greatest guitar players in history. Yes, that’s right, we are talking about Eric Clapton. One of our favorites of his was the boogie rocking blues infused track “Slow Down Linda.” The song was released on the album entitled Money and Cigarettes. The album was released in 1983. This was a very underrated Clapton album. The legendary Tom Dowd produced it. It featured some of the all-time great musicians, such as Albert Lee, Ry Cooder, Peter Solley, Donald Dunn, Roger Hawkins, Chuck Kirkpatrick, and John Sambataro.
# 1 – Linda Paloma – Jackson Browne
We close out our Top 10 Songs With The Name Linda In The Title list with the heartwarming Jackson Browne song entitled “Linda Paloma.” It just felt right to end our list with this one. The song was released on our favorite Jackson Browne album entitled The Pretender. The beautiful guitar sounds were performed by Roberto Gutierrez, who played the guitarrón on the track. The album was released in 1976.

Reaching back a bit further, a favorite of mine in Junior High was “Bella Linda” by the Grass Roots – It had a bit of a Moody Blues feel/sound to it.
