Our Top 10 Songs of the Band The 1975 takes a listen to a group from Wilmslow, England who arrived on the music scene in the early 2000s. The band quickly become a fan favorite of young audiences in secondary schools with their sweet sounding melodies and teasing lyrical content that the female audience quickly fell for Their music crosses many genres from pop to dance to electro pop to rock. The band seems clearly inspired by the sound of the early 80s as opposed to the 70s in which there band is named after. Our top 10 songs from the band The 1975 takes a listen to some great songs from this popular 21st century band.

# 10 – Love Me

We open up our  list with this classic song from The 1975 entitled “Love Me.” We wanted to open up this list with one of their best and “Love Me,” fits that category .The song “Love Me,” was released on the album entitled Like It When You Sleep, for You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware of It. Seems that they were inspired by Fiona Apple in length of album titles. It was the first single released from the album. The album was released in 2016.  Easily one of the best albums the group has ever released and one that we will be returning to multiple times on this list of songs by The 1975. The song was a hit on the US Billboard Mainstream Rock Tracks charts peaking at number seven.

# 9 – Give Yourself A Try

Continuing with our top 10 songs of The 1975 list we take a listen to the great track “Give Yourself A Try.” The song was released on the album entitled A Brief Inquiry into Online Relationships. The album was released in 2018. “Give Yourself A Try,” was the first single released from the album. The song was a hit on the US Billboard Mainstream Rock Tracks charts peaking at number twelve.

# 8 – Me  & You Together Song

In the number eight spot our top 10 songs of The 1975 list we present another heavy fan favorite entitled “Me & You Together Song.” You know this one is definitely a couples song. The 1975 is one of those rock bands that seems to have many more female fans than males fans. It’s just the sound of the band and the lyrics to many of the songs that seem to speak more to females than say a band like Green Day.

The “Me & You Together Song” was released on the album entitled Notes on a Conditional Form. The album was released in 2019. It was the third single released from the album. The song broke high onto the US Billboard Mainstream Rock Tracks charts peaking all the way up to number five.

# 7 – Ugh

In the number seven position our top 10 songs of The 1975 list we present the song groovy dance song entitled “Ugh”  The song was released on the album entitled I Like It When You Sleep, for You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware of It. The album was released in 2015. It was the second single released from the album. The song was  the group’s seconds straight top 10 a hit on the US Billboard Mainstream Rock Tracks charts from the album where it peaked at number 10.

# 6 – Love It If We Made It

You know there is just something about the title of this song that makes you think twice if you know what I mean. The song “Love It If We Made It,” was released on the album entitled A Brief Inquiry into Online Relationships. It was the second single released from the album. We love the pulsating bass on this track that has a really cool early 80s vibe like bands like The Human League or Heaven 17.

# 5 – Chocolate

At the halfway point on our top 10 songs of The 1975 list is the fantastic song “Chocolate.” Man do we love this song. You can really hear the band’s British roots on this song.  The song was issued on the album entitled The 1975. The album was released in 2012. It was the band’s first song to break into any of the US Billboard music charts. The song was a hit on the US Billboard Mainstream Rock Tracks charts peaking at number thirteen. The song was also was one of the band’s few singles to make it onto the US Billboard Hot 100 where it reached up to number 80.

# 4 – The Sound

At the number four spot on our top 10 songs of The 1975 list we present the song “The Sound.” This is such an uplifting song that really sounds like its from the year 1975. Great piano groove that just works so perfectly. The whole Daft Punk thing is happening here with a little bit of The Weeknd thrown in.  The song was released on the album entitled I Like It When You Sleep, for You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware of It. The song was a big  hit on the US Billboard Mainstream Rock Tracks charts peaking at number nine.

# 3 – Girls

Seven singles were released from the band’s debut album entitled The 1975. Only two of them broke into the US Billboard Mainstream Rock Tracks charts. The songs”Girls,” was one of them along with the song “Chocolate.” The song is just so addictive in the groove, melody and lyrics. Just a perfect pop song that would sound great in any decade. The video is spectacular and so early 80s with a modern production touch,

# 2 – Somebody Else

As we start to get close to the top of our our top 10 songs of The 1975 list we celebrate the song “Somebody Else.” The song was released on the album entitled I Like It When You Sleep, for You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware of It. The album was released in 2015. The song “Somebody Else.” was the third single released from the album. The song was a huge hit for the band. It broke onto the US Billboard Mainstream Rock Tracks charts peaking at number eight, and number five on the US Billboard Alternate Airplay charts.

# 1 – Robbers

We close out our top 10 songs of The 1975 with everyone’s favorite 1975 song entitled “Robbers.”  The song was released on the album entitled The 1975, The album was released in 2012. It was the sixth single released from the album. The song did not break onto any of  US Billboard charts but that didn’t matter as it would become a huge fan favorite.
