Our Top 10 Taylor Dayne Song looks at the great songs of a New York singer that broke big in the pop world in the late 1980s. Taylor Dayne turned a lot of heads in the late 1980s with the release of her debut hit single “Tell It To My Heart.” There was a fire to the song along with a freshness that had not been heard in dance music since the days of Donna Summer. And just like Donna Summer’s music there was a pop sensibility to the song that made it become a huge crossover hit. However, its was the spectacular vocals of Taylor Dayne and her jaw dropping performance in the video that really blew everyone’s mind. A star was born.

Taylor Dayne would prove to not be a one hit wonder as her debut album was loaded with hits. There weren’t all dance songs either. One of the most successful songs off the record was the grooving ballad “I’ll Always Love You.” Arista Records knew they had a big star in the making and brought on the big guns for her second album. Songwriters like Diane Warren contributed songs to the second record giving Taylor Dayne her first number one single in the song “Love Will Lead You Back.” The second album continued her run of hit singles.

Taylor Dayne’s third album was not as successful as her first two records. Still it was a strong album filled with great songs. Part of the album’s failure to hit it big was the four year wait between her second and third album. Additionally, grunge music had taken over the radio and the music scene had changed dramatically since Taylor Dayne ruled the airwaves in 1988 and 1989. Since her third album release in 1993, Taylor Dayne has released only two more albums with Naked Without You being released in 1998 and Satisfied in 2008.

Out Top 10 Taylor Dayne songs looks to offer a wide career perspective by trying to include a song from every album although we did not include anything from Naked Without You because of space limitations There were also some great songs released on movie soundtracks that we have also included.
