Our Top 100 Songs Of 1954 looks at a turning point year when Elvis Presley and Bill Haley & His Comets turned the world upside down proving that rock and roll was here to stay. Our list of the top 100 songs of the year is defined by a wider variety of musical styles in which music fans were presented with great albums from rock, jazz, county and pop artists. Songs like “Rock Around The Clock, Shake Rattle And Roll, Earth Angel, In The Still of the Night, and Fly Me To The Moon” would become standards in their own genres. But of course, the most exciting movement in the music industry was the emergence of Elvis Presley and the sound of Billy Haley.
