Isaac Slade

Isaac Slade is the lead vocalist and pianist of The Fray. He is a founding member and has been a pivotal figure in the band since its inception. Slade’s emotive voice and ability to write deeply personal and relatable lyrics have been significant elements of The Fray’s success. He has played on all of the band’s albums, from their debut How to Save a Life to their latest offering, Through the Years: The Best of The Fray. His leadership and musical talents have helped steer the band through various phases of their career, maintaining their relevance in the music industry over the years.

Mike Ayars

Mike Ayars was a guitarist for The Fray during the early stages of the band’s formation. Although he did not appear on any of the band’s commercially released albums, Ayars contributed to the early development and sound experimentation before the band settled into their more well-known lineup. After leaving The Fray, Ayars continued his career in music, focusing on personal projects and collaborations.

Zach Johnson

Zach Johnson also played a role in the initial lineup of The Fray, contributing primarily as a guitarist. Like Ayars, Johnson was part of the group before they achieved mainstream success and did not feature on major studio albums. His early contributions helped shape the foundational sound of the band, though he eventually moved on to pursue other interests outside of The Fray.

Caleb Slade

Caleb Slade, brother of Isaac Slade, was involved with The Fray in its early days. His involvement was primarily during the formative period of the band, contributing as a bassist. Caleb’s participation helped during early performances and initial recordings, although he did not continue with the band into their later commercial success. Caleb has since pursued other musical and artistic endeavors.

Graham Vanderbilt

Graham Vanderbilt played with The Fray during their developmental stages as well. Serving as a bassist, Vanderbilt’s time with the band was short-lived, and he left before the band recorded their debut album. His early work with The Fray contributed to the initial group dynamics and helped define the band’s direction in its nascent stages.
