Our 10 Best Songs With The Word ‘Gold’ In The Title article keeps it simple. We’re just sticking with the word “gold” for this article, not “golden.” So please don’t come complaining to us about not having “Golden Slumbers” on this list, or “Golden Years,” or any other song with the word “golden”. This one’s just about the gold. We will do a separate article for the word “golden, there are just so many.

# 10 – Diamonds And Gold

We open up our 10 Best Songs With The Word ‘Gold’ In The Title with a fantastic Tom Waits song called Diamonds And Gold. The song was a deep track on his 1985 album Rain Dogs.

# 9 – Power Of Gold – Dan Fogelberg and Tim Weisberg

The Power of Gold” was released in 1978 as a single from Dan Fogelberg and Tim Weisberg’s album Twin Sons of Different Mothers. It woudl become a top 40 hit in the US. This was an album filled with haunting, beautiful melodies, much like every other Dan Fogelberg album.

# 8 – Gold Don’t Rust

I don’t think I’ve ever met anyone who didn’t love Neil Diamond. This wonderful song was released on his LP, Tennessee Moon. The album was released in 1996.  This is one of the best albums of his later career.

# 7 – Everything Is Turning To Gold – The Rolling Stone

I always enjoy digging deep on these last lists, but I guess placing the Rolling Stones on this list isn’t really digging that deep. As far as their catalog goes, this one is a deep track. This song was originally released as a B-side to the single “Shattered,” which was off the Some Girls album. There is some great guitar work and sax playing on this recording.

# 6 – Silver And Gold

Try finding this one. Maria McKee’s vocal performance on this one is just so stunning, it’s a crime this was never officially released. This seems to be an outtake from the You Got to Sin to Be Saved album. It appears on a bootleg titled “What’s Going On with Miss X?”

# 5 – Silver, Blue & Gold – Bad Company

There was just something about Bad Company that made all rock fans fall in love with that band. Paul Rodgers made singing seem so effortless. The song was released on our favorite Bacb Company album, Run With The Pack.

# 4 – Fields Of Gold

Sting has written so many classic songs throughout his career, starting with those amazing albums for the Police. Yet I’ve always felt that his solo career faced so many challenges unfairly in the shadow of the Police. The work he’s done since breaking up the band has made him one of the greatest songwriters and musicians of the modern era. And possibly no other song defines that more than this haunting, beautiful song, “Fields of Gold.”

# 3 – Heart Of Gold

I couldn’t put together a list like this without including Neil Young’s classic. I like to dig deep on these lists, but sometimes you just have to showcase the big ones. Make sure to check out the video below; it will bring you back in time. And I can’t believe how clear it is.

# 2 – Gold – John Stewart

It’s a shame that a lot of people thought John Stewart was a wanted when he had such a massive hit with this song in 1979. The man was an original member of the Kingstown Trio and had written over 600 songs, including the huge Monkees hit “Daydream Believer.” The song also featured on backing vocals the singer who would take the number one spot on this list.

# 1 – Gold Dust Woman – Fleetwood Mac

Taking the number one spot is this magical song from Stevie Nicks and Fleetwood Mac. The song was issued on the Rumors album released during the winter of 1977. Setting up possibly the greatest summer of rock and roll tours most people have ever witnessed. I saw their show at Madison Square Garden in June of 1977, and it was just stunning.
