CeeLo Green is an American musical artist known for his work in the hip-hop and soul genres, as well as his solo career as a singer-songwriter. Green has released five studio albums, four mixtapes, and three collaborative albums. His most recent album, Heart Blanche, was released in 2015. Green has won six Grammy Awards throughout his career, including a “Producer of the Year” award in 2011. Green’s music has been heavily sampled and interpolated by other artists. # 10 – The Night Begins To Shine (2017)
“The Night Begins To Shine” was released in 2017 as a promotional single for the soundtrack of the animated film Teen Titans Go. The song covers the theme song from the 1984 television series Teen Titans. The song is about the transformative power of music and how it can unite people. The song peaked at number one on the US Billboard Adult R&B Songs chart, making it Green’s first number-one single as a solo artist.

The smooth and sultry track was originally included on Big Boi’s solo album Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty. The seventh song on our list is “Blackskin Mile” by CeeLo Green. The song was released in 2021 as part of the movie “The Harder They Fall” soundtrack. The lyrics of the song focus on the struggles faced by black Americans and how they are often left behind. It describes the “Blackskin Mile” as a place where black Americans are constantly marginalized and oppressed. The song is powerful and moving, and it is one of CeeLo Green’s most iconic tracks.

The song is about a relationship that has ended badly, with the narrator telling the person he used to be with that they can “forget you”. Music critics praised the song for its soulful sound and its lyrics. Several artists, including Justin Bieber and Pink have covered it.
