# 10 – The A-Team

We open our top 10 Ed Sheeran songs list with the fabulous song “The A-Team.”  This was the song where it all began for Ed Sheeran, and it’s just fitting to open up this Ed Sheeran song list with it. When I first heard this song, I thought that this artist sounded like an early 1970s artist. He had a certain quality that sounded like a Henry Gross or a Dan Fogelberg. It’s so easy to hear. This song is just so stunning and beautiful. The music is genuine; it touches your heart without any filters. It’s as real as it gets.

The song was released on the album entitled Plus. It was the first single released from the album. The album was released in 2011.  In the United Kingdom, the song hit number three on the United Kingdom Music Charts. The song was a hit on the US Billboard Hot 100 charts, peaking at number sixteen. The song was also hit on the Australian Music Charts peaking at number two. On the New Zealand Music Charts, the song hit number three. The spirited song was composed by Ed Sheeran.

We picked it at number nine to showcase the variety in Ed Sheeran’s music. The song was released on the album entitled Multiply. The album was released in 2013. This was a big song for Ed Sheeran as it became his first number-one single in his native home of the United Kingdom. Ed Sheeran put on his Bruno Mars dancing shoes for this one. I love Ed Sheeran’s falsetto, as it sounds so good. He delivers big time on the song with his incredible vocal skills.

“Sing” was the first single released from the album. In the United Kingdom, the song hit number one on the United Kingdom Music Charts. The song hit the US Billboard Hot 100 charts, peaking at number thirteen. The song was also a number one hit on the Australian Music Charts. # 8 – Castle On The Hill

It was the first single released from the album, along with the song “Shape Of You.” Both songs were released as co-lead singles. Ed Sheeran reminisces about his home in this one, sounding much older than he is. But that’s the mark of a truly gifted songwriter and artist.

In the United Kingdom, the song “Castle On The Hill” hit number two on the United Kingdom Music Charts. It hit number two because his other song, “Shape of You,” hit number one. This made Ed Sheeran the only artist in the history of the United Kingdom music charts to debut two singles at the number one and two positions. Unbelievable! The song was a hit on the US Billboard Hot 100 charts, peaking at number six. The song was also hit on the Australian Music Charts, peaking at number two. On the New Zealand Music Charts, the song also hit number two. The song also hit number two in Canada and Denmark.

In the number seven position on our top 10 Ed Sheeran songs list is the sweet song entitled “Eyes Closed.” The song was released on the album entitled  (“Subtract“). The album was released in 2023. It’s a tender track that defines the soulfulness of Ed Sheeran and why people love him so much.

# 6 – South Of The Border

Okay, so this is how you make a video. Jason Koenig does a fantastic job directing the video for the song “South Of The Border,” it almost makes the song secondary to the visuals, which is probably not good for the song. Still, in this case, it works exceptionally well. The song showcases guest vocal appearances from both Cardi B and Camila Cabello. The video stars Ed Sheeran, Camila Cabello, Cardi B, Alexis Ren, and Paul Karmiryan. Camila Cabello is so gorgeous she just steals it all the moment she appears on the screen. What song?
