Top 10 Luke Combs Songs

Our Top 10 Luke Combs songs list takes a listen to the songs of one of country music’s newest sensations who is a part of the very much happening country and rock music scene of the 2020s and 2010s. Riding alongside artist such as Billy Currington, Brantley Gilbert, Jason Aldean, Zac Brown Band and so many of the other younger country stars that have merged the fields of country music and rock ‘n’ roll like never before, Luke Combs is a very interesting artist and one that we are very proud to write about.

It’s tough for some of us old rock ‘n’ roll fans to write about these new artist when we look at their birthdates. Luke Combs was born in March of 1990. I’m still wearing T-shirts I bought in 1990 and they still seem pretty new to me. Many of these young country artists who were born in the 90s have a very different perspective on music from those of us who were born in the 1960s or 1970s. It’s interesting to listen to their music and hear the influences that the late 90s and 2000s had on the music that they’re releasing in a 2010s and 2020s.

Like many aspiring country singers and writers Luke Combs would move from his home in North Carolina to the place of hopes and dreams for all country writers called Nashville, Tennessee. In 2014 Luke Combs would release his first EP entitled The Way She Rides. It would be a few years before Luke Combs would be able to release his first full length album, but that would happen three years later in 2017 when Luke Combs released his stunning debut album entitled This One’s For You. And no, that has nothing to do with the Barry Manilow album of the same title that was released in 1977.

Luke Combs followed up his debut album two years later in 2019 with the record What You See Is What You Get. Both of his albums would generate about a dozen singles and a heavy amount of Grammy Awards nominations. While Luke Combs has not released a lot material like so many of the other artists on this site have done, we think his material is so good that it’s important take a look at this music right now to turn people on to this fabulous new artist.

If there ever was any band from the 90s that had such a strong influence on the country stars of the 21st-century it was definitely Hootie & the Blowfish.
