The Eagles have announced an exciting residency at the Sphere in Las Vegas, featuring eight shows over four weekends from September 20 to October 19. A few months ago, there were reports that this was in the works, and now it has become official. We are all getting older, and this could possibly be the last chance to see what’s left of the Eagles. Just a month ago, I went to see the Rolling Stones for the first time in my life, guided by that same philosophy. I’m glad I did, as it was such a spectacular show.
The Eagles’ performances are scheduled for the following dates: September 20, September 21, September 27, September 28, October 11, October 12, October 18, and October 19. General ticket sales will begin on Friday, June 21 at 10 a.m. PT, with prices starting at $175. This all-in pricing approach includes all taxes and fees in the listed ticket price. Gone are the days of ten or twenty-dollar tickets to see your favorite bands. However, you can’t really blame the bands for charging high prices for tickets, because the public no longer buys music. And of course, there are probably so many hands in the soup taking a cut that who knows what’s left for the band. In my recent interview with Ian Paice of Deep Purple, the legendary drummer told me, “In the old days, we used to tour to support an album, now we release an album to support the tour.”
To ensure tickets reach genuine fans, the Eagles have initiated an advance artist presale available now at https://eagles.com, powered by Seated, starting Tuesday, June 18 at 10 a.m. PT. Live Nation will also have a presale starting on Thursday, June 20 at 10 a.m. PT. Additionally, Vibee, the hotel and experience package partner for the residency, offers packages that include a two-night stay at the Venetian Resort—the only resort connected to Sphere. These packages, which provide priority entry to Sphere (which is a pretty cool-looking arena to see a concert,) commemorative keepsakes, and access to a fan experience, will be available starting Friday, June 14 at 10 a.m. PT at Eagles.vibee.com.
Limited VIP ticket packages will also be available from Tuesday, June 18, at 10 a.m. PT, offering premium seats, exclusive merchandise, parking, and more.
I have only been to Vegas once in my life, as Vegas is pretty far from New York City. However, I had the time of my life and would highly recommend a trip to Sin City for anyone. I just wish they still had those $4.99 steak and lobster meals like they used to.
