The band released their second album, entitled Fugazi, in 1984 and then enjoyed tremendous success with their third album, entitled Misplaced Childhood, in 1985. The band’s next album, Clutching At Straws, released in 1987, continued the band’s international success on both economic and artistic fronts.
Marillion ended their 1980’s period with the album Seasons End. The band’s lead singer, Fish, had already left, and their new vocalist, Steve Hogarth, would begin a career with the band that still finds him in the lead vocal chair in 2018.
From 1983 to 2016, the band Marillion released eighteen studio albums. Marillion has also released nine live albums and thirty-six singles. They have remained together longer than most progressive rock bands and currently stand as one of the most loved progressive rock groups ever, both internationally and especially in Europe. We have attempted to define some of their best material throughout their career, but we found ourselves drawn very much to the music of their 1980s period.
