Our top 10 songs from The Vamps list digs deep into the music of a British band famed for its pop-rock sound. The Vamps were formed in 2012 after guitarist James McVey decided to form a pop ensemble. McVey met vocalist Bradley Simpson through YouTube, with the duo teaming up to write songs. McVey and Bradley discovered drummer Tristan Evans through Facebook and bassist Connor Ball through a mutual friend.
Immediately after the band’s inception, The Vamps uploaded cover songs on its YouTube channel. Their cover for the song “Live While We’re Young” by One Direction saw The Vamps become popular in England. The band released its debut track, “Can We Dance,” in 2013. In just two weeks, “Can We Dance” had over a million YouTube views. The song managed to rise to number two on the UK Singles Chart, only unable to beat “Counting Stars” by OneRepublic.
The band released its debut album Meet the Vamps, in 2014. “Last Night” was yet another musical gem from the album that managed to rise to number two on the UK Singles Chart. Meet the Vamps (2014) peaked at number forty on the Billboard 200. The album settled for number two on the UK Albums Chart, second to Caustic Love (2014) by Paolo Nutini. One of the popular and successful songs on the album is “Somebody to You.” The band later released a new version of the hit featuring Demi Lovato.
Following the success of the collaborative version of “Somebody to You,” The Vamps released a new version of “Oh Cecilia (Breaking My Heart).” The new version featured Canadian pop star, Shawn Mendes. Despite being newbies in the music industry, The Vamps launched Steady Records, their own record label. The label signed The Tide, an American pop rock ensemble.
In 2015, The Vamps released its sophomore studio album Wake Up. This Gold-certified album managed to rise to position ten on the UK Albums Chart. On the Billboard 200, Wake Up (2015) managed to rise to number a hundred and eighty-six. “Wake Up,” “I Found a Girl,” and “Rest Your Love” are some of the musical gems featured on Wake Up (2015).
In 2017, the band hit the studio to release its studio album Night & Day. The album was released in two parts; the Day Edition and the Night Edition. Songs on the album saw the band collaborate with legendary artists, including Martin Jensen, Joe Don Rooney, Matoma, Sabrina Carpenter, and Mike Perry.
Night & Day (2017) failed to chart on the Billboard 200. However, the album’s Night Edition was The Vamps’ first album to make it to number one on the UK Albums Chart. The Day Edition managed a number two peak position on the UK Albums Chart. Night & Day (2017) was Gold-certified after making sales of over a hundred thousand units.
The band made an effort to release its fifth studio album Cherry Blossom (2020). Cherry Blossom (2020) led the band to its second number one album on the UK Albums Chart. Even though the band fails to subscribe to stereotypes, The Vamps has been compared to One Direction. #9 – I Found a Girl
“I Found a Girl” is one of the best songs from The Vamps’ sophomore album Wake Up (2015). The song finds the band singing about falling for a lady who doesn’t really like guys. Guitarist James McVey revealed that the song is based on a true experience by one of the band’s members. The band has released another version of this song featuring Omi, a singer famed for his hit “Cheerleader.” “I Found a Girl” peaked at number thirty on the UK Singles Chart.

#7 – Personal ft. Maggie Lindemann
“Personal” is a charming pop ballad from the band’s album Night & Day (Day Edition) (2017). The song finds The Vamps collaborating with Maggie Lindemann, who is featured on the vocals. Maggie Lindemann was at that time famed for her single “Pretty Girl.” Her vocals blend in perfectly with Brad Simpson’s vocals making “Personal” one of the band’s best songs.

#5 – Just My Type
The Vamps’ album Night & Day (Day Edition) is home to our number five song, “Just My Type.” “Just My Type” alludes to a girl that the singer finds to be his type. This is best captured on the song’s accompanying music video. However, after dating this girl, he realizes that the girl is not proof of negativity despite being her type. The whole narrative takes us to the beginning of the music video, having the singer ignore her.
#4 – Wake Up
“Wake Up” is the album title track to the band’s sophomore album. Listening close to the song’s drums, it is vivid that The Vamps interpolates the beats of Nine Inch Nails’ “Every Day Is Exactly the Same.” “Wake Up” features David Beckham’s son Brooklyn Beckham, who just landed his debut acting role on this hit. The song managed to rise to number twelve on the UK Singles Chart.

Coming in the third position on our top 10 songs from The Vamps is the hit “Oh Cecilia (Breaking My Heart).” The song is featured on The Vamps’ debut album Meet the Vamps (2014). “Oh Cecilia (Breaking My Heart)” was first released as a solo version but later featured Canadian pop star, Shawn Mendes. The chorus of this hit is adapted from the 1970 masterpiece “Cecilia” by Simon & Garfunkel. “Oh Cecilia (Breaking My Heart)” managed to rise to number nine on the UK Singles Chart.
#2- All Night ft. Matoma
“All Night” is one of the best The Vamps songs from Night & Day (Night Edition) (2017). The song finds The Vamps collaborating with Norwegian house DJ Matoma. Matoma is famed for the production of “Try Me” by Jason Derulo featuring Jennifer Lopez. He is also known for his remix of “Old Thing Back” by The Notorious B.I.G. Matoma adds some EDM glamor to the song, making it ooze more energy and a funky feel. “All Night” peaked at number twenty-four on the UK Singles Chart.

After some months of the song’s release, The Vamps re-released the song featuring Demi Lovato on the vocals. The new version was captured on the band’s EP of the same name. “Somebody to You” rose to number four on the UK Singles Chart.
