Tammy Wynette was born in 1942 in Tremont, Mississippi. While in her late 20s she married another county music legend in George Jones creating a powerful county music team. We would see many country music stars marry each other over the years like Faith Hill and Tim McGraw going all the way back to Johnny Cash and June Carter. Some of them lasted, many did not.
Throughout her career Tammy Wynette would release an amazing body of work. Tammy Wynette released her first album in 1967 entitled Your Good Girl’s Gonna Go Bad on Epic Records. From that point on she would constantly release albums and singles at a rapid pace. She released two albums eash in 1967, 1968 and 1969. In 1970 she released four studio albums including the records The Ways to Love a Man, Tammy’s Touch , The First Lady and Christmas with Tammy. That’s ten albums released in her first four years. Not even The Beatles or Elton John did that. In the end, Tammy Wynette would release thirty three studio albums and over twenty compilations. Tammy Wynette would have incredible success on the singles charts where she scored many number one hits from a catalog of sixty four single releases.
