# 10 – Windows ft. Akenya Seymour and Alex Wiley

The first song on our Top 10 Chance the Rapper Songs list is “Windows” from the album 10 Day. The song has a hip-hop beat. The wishful song is about different things. He talks about what’s going on in his neighborhood. He shouts out different people in his neighborhood. He also talks about certain situations going on in his neighborhood. He explained how his teachers treated him in the past.

He talks about drugs and alcohol. Chance the Rapper talks about gang life. He even talks about driving around in his neighborhood. He doesn’t miss anything when it concerns what happens in his life. He wants to ride around in peace with his “windows” down. He proved he’s an innovator with this track. The lyrics are different from most hip-hop songs.

The title might mislead you into thinking it’s about something else. You have to pay attention to the lyrics to understand the point he is trying to make. This track may seem like it would be a novelty song, but it makes you think. He has gone through a lot in his life and he wanted to share it with the world. The music is captivating. It doesn’t sound like your typical hip-hop beat. The song mixes r&b and hip-hop music beautifully. The song contains a sample of the track “Bridge Through Time” by Lonnie Lyston Smith. It was a different sample to use, but he made it work.

Chance the Rapper borrows the swag of Kanye West on this track. His style is very similar to his on this track. Akenya Seymour’s voice is beautiful. She should have had a bigger part in the song. She should be invited to sing more songs because her voice is incredible. Alex Wiley’s rhymes are excellent. He’s not the first rapper you think of when you think of the hip-hop genre, but he could give other artists a run for their money.

Hip-Hop artists don’t usually talk about subjects like this. They usually brag about the things they have, crime and police brutality. This is the type of song we needed to hear by a hip-hop artist.

Chance the Rapper deserves credit for this song. He doesn’t beat you over the head with his religion. He wants to do a dedication to God and there’s nothing wrong with that. It was nice to hear him praise God for the many “blessings” in his life. He doesn’t come off braggadocios about the things he has in his life.

He’s grateful for what he has in his life and that is a positive message to his fans. He proved you don’t have to write about violence to write a deep song. The music is somber and isn’t your typical gospel song. The music blends gospel with hip-hop. This song could be a nod to his love of Kirk Franklin’s music since he performs music like this song. Chance the Rapper considers Kirk Franklin to be one of his favorite artists. This may seem unusual since he is a rapper.

It’s too bad he couldn’t get Kirk Franklin to appear in the song. Jamila Woods has a voice of an angel. She sounds like she has a church background so it makes sense that she’s singing the chorus. They should record more music together.

You will want to take advantage of your bluetooth speakers so you can enjoy the beat even more. Chance the Rapper’s flow is jawdropping. He speeds up some of his vocals on the track.

He sounds similar to rapper Twista when he speeds up the lyrics. It’s amazing how fast he raps when he speeds up the lyrics. Jeremih is along for the ride. He brings his soulful vibes to the track. His voice sounds like music as he sings in the background. Their baritone voices are smooth like butter.

We applaud Chance the Rapper for recording this positive song about what goes on in the hood. He wants the gun violence to stop so his daughter could be safe.

We never get tired of hearing Chance the Rapper’s flow. He chose a different approach for this song. He decided to sing some of the lyrics while maintaining his hip-hop swag. Their voices blend together like peanut butter and jelly. It’s as if they were made to rap with each other. They spar back and forth with each other effortlessly. He proves he has the “juice” with this banger. He shows the world just how talented he is with this track. This is a subject that has been covered in other songs before, but he takes the song to a different level.

He wants everyone to take notice of his abilities to create tracks. He could have come off arrogant with this song because it’s one of his first songs. He sounds confident and you have to be in order to rap about something like this one. The instrumentation is brilliant. It sounds like Chance the Rapper used genuine music for this song. The music doesn’t sound computer generated. Chance the Rapper raps and sings the song.

He does scream in the background for some unexplained reason, but it doesn’t hurt the song. You are going to love it or hate it. The chorus is easy to remember because he repeats a line over. Chance the Rapper sounds like he was in the music business for a long time with this track. You can easily forget this was one of his first singles released to the world. With songs like this one, it’s easy to see why he gained popularity.

# 4 – All Night

The party track is from the album Coloring Book. The song has a hip-hop sound. The cautionary song is about Chance the Rapper’s trust issues now that he’s become famous. He talks about people taking advantage of him. He talks about being in a club with drugs, women and partying. He talks about people pretending to be related to him in order to get into a club.

He isn’t comfortable with all of the attention he receives because of his fame. We may not be able to relate to his dilemma, but we appreciate being invited into his personal journal so we can get an inside look at his personal life. Chance the Rapper wants to think outside of the box. You would think this party song would be about him wanting drugs and women, but he doesn’t want to be used.

The track has a festive beat considering the subject. The song is upbeat and bouncy. You will break a sweat moving around to this jam. The song is perfect for the club or if you want to dance at home. It doesn’t sound like a hip-hop song at all. It sounds like the ultimate party song. You won’t be able to sit still listening to this track. We tried to listen to it without moving around, but it was impossible.

The beat will grab your attention. The chorus is very catchy and you may find yourself singing it throughout your day. This is the type of song that you will want to keep playing. Chance the Rapper’s skills are on point. He’s angry on the song, but you can hear the passion in his voice as he calls out the people who are using him. His skills are excellent. # 3 – Chain Smoker

The energetic song is from the Acid Rap album. The song has a hip-hop beat. The bouncy song is about him still being a smoker and that he hasn’t changed. He didn’t let the fame get to his head. He’s still the same person he was before he became famous. He also talks about namedropping whenever he sees fit. We don’t hear too many songs about chain smoking so this was different. He insists that he’s still the same person that he was before. It’s good to know when artists let the fans know that they haven’t changed because of the fame.

The beat is out of this world. It’s like something you haven’t heard before. The beat starts slowly and then picks up the pace. The music has a bright energy. This jam is perfect to listen to while you’re in the car or if you want to dance in the club. You can also move around to it in the privacy of your home.

The music is just as good as the lyrics. Chance the Rapper’s rhyming skills are amazing. He races through each line and never misses a beat. There aren’t too many rappers with the same skill that he has to create songs like this one. He definitely gets the crown for originality. This song will hit different if you have been in his position.

The beat sounds like genuine music. Most hip-hop artists don’t use genuine music for their songs. The keyboard and drums are the best part in the song. Chance the Rapper proves he’s not like any other rapper. He tackles subjects that other rappers wouldn’t rush to sing about. Twista’s vocals are impressive. He raps very fast. Anyone who is familiar with Twista, then you know that he raps very fast.
