I start sweating when I hear the news that Led Zeppelin is releasing something new. It’s not often that this happens, so any news is welcome, even if it’s material we have heard before. Led Zeppelin is honoring the 50th anniversary of their monumental double album Physical Graffiti with a brand new Live E.P., arriving September 12, 2025, in 180-gram 12″ vinyl, CD, and digital formats. This marks the first time four celebrated live performances “In My Time Of Dying” and “Trampled Under Foot” from Earl’s Court 1975, and “Sick Again” and “Kashmir” from Knebworth 1979 are being officially released in audio-only formats. Previously available only on the 2003 Led Zeppelin DVD, these tracks are now being issued for the first time on standalone CD, vinyl, and digital platforms.

Also arriving on September 12 is a newly updated 50th Anniversary edition of the 3LP Physical Graffiti Deluxe Vinyl Set. This reissue includes the remastered 2015 audio along with the original Companion Audio disc featuring alternate mixes and early takes—not new material, but presented here with upgraded packaging and a bonus replica of the original 1975 promotional poster.

Originally released in February 1975, Physical Graffiti was a creative high-water mark for the band. The 15-track collection was built from eight newly recorded songs and seven unreleased tracks pulled from earlier sessions, including material originally recorded during the Led Zeppelin III, Led Zeppelin IV, and Houses of the Holy sessions. Tracks like “The Rover,” “Down by the Seaside,” and “Night Flight” had been shelved until this release, while newly written material like “Kashmir,” “Trampled Under Foot,” and “Ten Years Gone” helped define the band’s expansive sonic identity.

Recording for Physical Graffiti began in 1973 at Headley Grange using Ronnie Lane’s Mobile Studio, with overdubs and final mixes completed at Olympic Studios in London the following year. The album was also the inaugural release on Swan Song Records, the band’s newly formed label, making its success all the more pivotal. It has since been certified 17x platinum, underscoring its enduring commercial and artistic legacy.

The 1975 Earl’s Court concerts and the 1979 Knebworth shows both represented on the new Live E.P.were landmark performances in the band’s live history. The Earl’s Court run featured five sold-out nights and captured the band in full command of their catalog, while the Knebworth appearances marked their return to the UK stage following a two-year absence. Now, for the first time, select tracks from these iconic shows are being released in high-quality audio formats for fans to own and experience outside of video.

The Live E.P. is available for pre-order now. As a special preview, “Trampled Under Foot (Live From Earl’s Court, 1975)” is streaming on all major digital platforms. The 50th Anniversary edition of Physical Graffiti is also available for pre-order, offering a commemorative new chapter for one of rock’s most revered albums.
