T-Pain is a creative artist who managed to make AutoTune popular. Most singers didn’t rely on it at the time, but he made a career out of using it. He made it so popular that other artists decided to use his singing style. He was inspired to use AutoTune when he heard the remix to Jennifer Lopez’s “If You Had My Love.” He doesn’t have that many albums, but he has a lot of singles that were hits. He was able to change his style from rapping to singing and be successful doing it. Our Top 10 T-Pain Songs list will feature his best songs.
# 10 – Church
The first song on our Top 10 T-Pain Songs list is “Church” from the Epiphany album. It also appears on the soundtrack for Step Up 2. The track has a hip-hop beat. The confrontational song is about someone who wants to get into a fight after an altercation in a club. He let the guy know he planned on taking him to “church.” T-Pain isn’t the type of person who would fight people in a club so he used an alias for this track.
The alias is Teddy Verseti. This is a track where T-Pain is rapping instead of singing. This is definitely a different type of hip-hop song. It’s not something that too many rappers cover when they record music. He proved that he is very creative with his work. This song works for the soundtrack because the characters are competing with each other in the movie.
This is the type of song that gets everyone pumped up. You will be on the floor in no time when you hear the bouncy beat. It’s very energetic and perfect for dancing. The music is a mix of hip-hop and dance music. Fans of both genres will enjoy the beat of this jam. This jam is perfect for parties. Once the DJ puts this track on, the crowd will go wild. T-Pain raps on this song. You will be surprised at how fast he raps.
He sounds like Twista while he’s rapping. You might have to read the lyrics to understand what he’s saying on the song. He doesn’t use AutoTune on this song so you get a chance to hear his voice. He sounds pretty good without AutoTune so he doesn’t really need it.
# 9 – Can’t Believe It ft. Lil Wayne
The next song on our Top 10 T-Pain Songs list is “Can’t Believe It” from the Three Ringz album. The song has an r&b and hip-hop album. The introspective song is about not settling for what you’re doing. No matter what you’re doing, you can always be doing better. Even if you think you’re at the top of your game, there is always something you could be doing to improve yourself. Never settle for less.
He wants to rescue a woman who is in a bad spot. She thinks that she’s pursuing her dreams, but he thinks she’s settling. He wants her to be with him and improve her life. He wanted to make her life better. This song shows how much he cares about the woman and he wants better for her.
T-Pain picked an interesting topic to cover. People need direction so this song will be helpful to hear. We give him a thumb’s up for discussing something that doesn’t get talked about often. Most hip-hop artists tend to brag about what they have and that isn’t meaningful to the listeners at all. He talks about what he can do for her, but it’s done in a helpful way. He wants her to have a better life. Anyone who is lost doesn’t need to hear about rappers having bling. With that said, this song is a nice break from that.
The music has a good vibe. You can listen to this beat when you want to chill out or if you want to think. T-Pain sings on this track. The AutoTune is back for this song. He is at home using AutoTune. Lil Wayne has a verse on the track too. He has a slowed down rhyming style. He also uses AutoTune on the track. They worked together on another track. Lil Wayne wasn’t really needed for this song. T-Pain was more than enough for this track. Lil Wayne’s part is small so he could have hit the cutting room floor.
# 8 – Chopped ‘n Skrewed ft. Ludacris
The dramatic song is from the album Three Ringz. The song has an r&b and hip-hop song. The metaphoric song is about men being tricked by women and getting blown off by them. The title and style of the song is referred to hip-hop music in Texas. We applaud T-Pain and Ludacris for being willing to admit that women screwed them over.
Men don’t usually tackle songs where they are conned by women. They usually talk about their sexual prowess when it comes to women. They don’t discuss the women who take advantage of them. They took a chance on this topic and it worked for them. You might find yourself feeling sorry for them. You will also be thankful that you aren’t in the situation they were talking about.
The song has a futuristic sound. It sounds different and unique. It’s slowed down and doesn’t sound like hip-hop music that you would hear. The slowed-down beat works for the song. You get a chance to focus on T-Pain and Ludacris’ vocals. T-Pain sings on this track. He sounds different on this song.
Once you hear his vocals, you might be surprised that it’s T-Pain. He sounds similar to Chris Brown. The track sounds like something Chris Brown would have recorded. It also sounds like something Usher would record. Ludacris makes his appearance on the track. His rhyming skills are off the charts. He speeds up the lyrics the same way Twista does on his tracks. He’s not as fast as Twista, but he does rap fast on the song.
# 7 – 5 O’clock ft. Wiz Khalifa and Lily Allen
The banger is from the Revolver album. The track has a hip-hop and r&b beat. The suspicious song is about a man who is out at the club. His girlfriend is waiting up for him to come home. He stays up late and decides to go home. He wants to go back home to his girl. She thinks he’s cheating on her for why he’s out so late. He wants to prove that he’s not cheating by trying to get home early.
She pretends to be asleep and he wants to have sex with her. She goes along with it even though she’s not sure what he’s been doing at the club. He lets his club life interfere with his love life. This is a messy situation and we are here for it. We love songs that contain a lot of drama. This song has enough drama for days.
T-Pain does an excellent job telling this story. He doesn’t paint himself in a good light, but that’s not a bad thing. He humbled himself enough to be the bad guy in the song. The music doesn’t really sound like it would be played in a club considering it’s about club life. We would expect the beat to be faster than it is. You could bop your head to the beat, but it’s not something you could really dance to in a club. T-Pain uses his reliable AutoTune on this track. It’s not bad, but the song would have had a bigger impact if he didn’t use AutoTune. He would have sounded more passionate if he used his natural voice.
Lily Allen is in the chorus. Her vocals are from her song “Who’d Have Known.” She sings a line that mentions “5 O’clock in the morning.” T-Pain used the sample for this track and included her vocals from it. He wanted to give her credit so their voices are blended to sound like a duet. Wiz Khalifa is along for the ride. His rhyming skills are excellent. He raps similar to Kanye West on the track. This catchy song will stay in your head like an earworm.
# 6 – Best Love Song ft. Chris Brown
The romantic song is from the Revolver album. The track has an r&b, dance and pop sound. The loving song is about a man wanting to write the best love song to get the girl he wants for the night. He wants to be the best songwriter ever. He has high goals with this track, but we respect his game. This is another different song.
T-Pain definitely doesn’t want to write songs like everyone else. He insists on thinking outside of the box and we’re here for it. The song is a love song, but it’s different from the other songs we’ve heard. He wants to write a beautiful love song for his lady. You would expect the Kings of Romance (Luther Vandross, Freddie Jackson, Peabo Bryson, Babyface, Brian McKnight, Keith Sweat as well as others) to record a song like this. T-Pain proved he could write a song about clubbing and write a touching love song.
This song has an infectious pop beat to it. The piano, keyboard and drums combine to make an amazing beat. The guitar gives the song a rock edge. They didn’t leave anything on the table when it concerned the music. We couldn’t be happier about that. You will be on the floor dancing when the song starts. As soon as you hear the first few notes of the song, you will find yourself hooked to it. T-Pain sounds similar to Chris Brown on some of his songs so it made sense for them to work together on this track. They sound like they are having a good time recording this song.
T-Pain and Chris Brown are using AutoTune on this track. It doesn’t hurt the song too much because the music helps balance out the AutoTune. This song is pleasant on the ear and will make you a fan of both artists. Hopefully, they will get a chance to work together again because they created a brilliant song with this track.
# 5 – Bartender ft. Akon
The next song on our Top 10 T-Pain Songs list is “Bartender” from the Epiphany album. The song has an r&b beat. The flirtatious song is about a man who breaks up with his girlfriend so he decides to go to a club to get over it. Everybody flirts with him as soon as he gets to the club. The only one he’s interested in is the female bartender.
They hit it off and he realizes that he likes her. It sounds like a rebound relationship, but he’s able to get over the love he lost. The song is different because men usually hit on girls in the club. They don’t usually hit on the bartender in songs. Is he really in love? Is he drunk and the alcohol is making him think he’s in love with her? We will never know the answer to that question, but we don’t mind going along for the ride. We will take this trip and see where it takes us.
The catchy song doesn’t have a complicated story. The song is simply about a man falling for a bartender. You don’t hear about this too often so it was nice to take the journey. The beat is timeless. It still sounds good years after its release. This isn’t one of those songs that sound dated at a point.
You will still find yourself moving around to this track anytime you hear it. The song has a feel-good beat that will put a smile to your face. It sounds like a track that Akon would perform so it makes sense that he’s in it. T-Pain and Akon sound similar on the song. You might have to watch the video to see which one is singing.
It’s almost impossible to tell which one is which because they are both using AutoTune. T-Pain’s voice is deeper when he doesn’t use AutoTune. He goes up an octave once he uses AutoTune. Akon sounds similar to T-Pain when he uses AutoTune. This track is something you can listen to and have fun doing it. You will want to keep this song on repeat so you can continue hearing it.
# 4 – Low Flo Rida ft. T-Pain
The flirty song is from Flo Rida’s album Mail on Sunday. The song has a hip-hop beat. The raunchy song is about a man checking out a woman’s body. He admires her ability to get “low.” He likes her twerking ability. He thinks she’ll go home with him because he has a lot of money. The song isn’t meant to be a sexual one. The track is about her getting “low” which is what people do when they twerk.
This song might please male listeners more than females. The lyrics might be offensive and sound objectifying towards women. If you can get past the lyrics, you will enjoy the track. People did enjoy it because it was big hit for Flo Rida and T-Pain. The song has been used in different commercials and movies.
The music is incredible. It’s incredibly fast and is perfect for dancing as well as working out. You will work up a sweat dancing to this jam. It sounds computer generated, but that doesn’t stop it from having an excellent beat. It definitely doesn’t sound like any other hip-hop song on the radio. “Low” has an energetic sound and has massive crossover appeal. The beat will appeal to fans of r&b, hip-hop and dance music.
Everyone was dancing along to this jam when it was released. The beat is tight and will put you in a bright mood. Flo Rida and T-Pain created an amazing jam. Flo Rida’s rhymes are outstanding. He is such a talented rapper. He captivates you as he raps about the ladies twerking.
He will make you forget that he’s rapping about something that might be offensive. T-Pain knows how to make you sing along with him. He sings the hook in a catchy way. He does use AutoTune on the track, but he will make you want to sing along with him.
# 3 – I’m ‘n Luv (Wit a Stripper) ft. Mike Jones
The seductive song is from the Rappa Ternt Singa album. The song has an r&b and hip-hop sound. The sensual song is about a man who goes to a strip joint and wants to take the girl he meets to his place. He ends up falling in love with the stripper. If you look at the title, it basically says it all. He’s in love with a stripper. Men are attracted to strippers, but do they fall in love with them? This isn’t a song that you should listen to in front of the kids. This is a different type of love song. Rappers don’t always talk about strippers in the best light. T-Pain decided to record a song about a stripper without exploiting her.
Here is some trivia about the song. T-Pain took a friend to a strip club and he fell in love with the dancer. He wrote a song about the night. This song was considered risqué at the time of its release. There were radio stations that wouldn’t play it without it being edited. The song started the rise in AutoTune. It also helped more artists record songs about naked women. Considering it’s a song about a stripper, the beat is surprisingly slow.
You can’t really dance to this song. You can move around a little, but not the way you could dance to other hip-hop songs. T-Pain uses AutoTune for the track. You can hear his true voice a little throughout the song. He sings in time with the beat. Mike Jones’ rhyming skills are tight. He slows things down enough for you to understand what he’s saying. He doesn’t take over the song so T-Pain is allowed to be the star of the track. He does his job as a guest rapper and that’s it. He allows T-Pain to shine.
# 2 – Buy U a Drank (Shawty’s Snappin’) ft. Yung Joc
The captivating song is from the Epiphany album. The song has an r&b and hip-hop beat. The tempting song is about a man who goes to a club and hits on a lady. He wants to buy her a drink. He invites her to go back to his place so they can have sex. He wanted to write a song about trying to buy a woman a drink. T-Pain is at home with this track. He writes songs about people who are in clubs so this is familiar territory for him. You won’t learn anything new here. It has a simple meaning so it’s not cerebral at all.
This was a popular song for T-Pain when it was released and it’s easy to see why it was a hit. The beat grabs your attention as soon as the first note plays. Once the finger snaps are played, it’s over. He created a style of music and dance. Other artists were trying to recreate the style he started when this track came out. We dare you to listen to this song without moving around to it.
You might lose that dare because the music is infectious. You can’t do energetic dancing, but you can listen to it when you are in the bedroom. You might want to send the kids to bed early so you can listen to this song. T-Pain’s vocals are strong. You already know what he used on this song. If you answered AutoTune, you are right. He relied on his best friend for this song. He uses it the most when he sings the hook. It doesn’t take away from the track, but he uses it once again. Yung Joc’s verse is great. He knows what he’s doing. They should work together again.
# 1 – I’m Sprung
The number one song on our Top 10 T-Pain Songs list is “I’m Sprung” from the album Rappa Ternt Singa. The song has an r&b beat. The charming song is about a man who is in love with a woman. He becomes hooked on her. He finds himself doing things he never thought he would do. T-Pain thinks she’s not good for his image, but he wants to be with her anyway. He gets scared because he’s changing so he decides to break up with her. He feels it’s the best thing to do. T-Pain’s character ends up missing her and wanting her back. He realizes he’s “sprung” and needs her in his life.
This is T-Pain’s first single. This song helped put him on the musical map. T-Pain was experienced with AutoTune when he created this song. He must have liked what he heard because he stuck with the formula. It’s the perfect song for the summer. You can listen to this track on the beach or at the park. You can also dance to this track at home. The beat is so catchy that it will stay in your head. T-Pain’s best friend AutoTune is along for the ride.
He relies on it heavily for this track. He sounds similar to Akon when he does the ad-libs on the track. He has a decent voice so he didn’t need to rely on AutoTune so much. He’s very comfortable using it, but the AutoTune works for this track. There are parts of the song that are AutoTune free, but they don’t last long. He doesn’t rely on guest stars for this track. He sings this song alone and we couldn’t be happier about it. He didn’t have to rely on guest rappers. We get to hear T-Pain by himself.
