Our Best Rock Albums Of 2013 defines a year in which rock fans saw the first new Black Sabbath studio album in eighteen years. So far, it stands as the final Black Sabbath studio album. The year also saw the release of David Bowie’s The Next Day album, which can be described as one of his strongest efforts of the 21st century, only to be eclipsed by his final album released three years later. Our Top 10 Best Rock Albums Of 2013 list was once again filled with the legends of classic rock history, including new studio releases by Elton John, Paul McCartney, Pearl Jam, and Joan Jett, and a tremendous collaborative rock and roll album by our favorite rocker Sammy Hagar.
2013 also saw the meeting of a great guitarist with an incredible blues singer when Beth Hart and Joe Bonamassa got together and released a smoking rock album entitled Seesaw. Rock fans may have also been surprised to see a new Boston album released. Other surprises were the return of Alice In Chains and a collaborative effort between Elvis Costello and The Roots. Eric Clapton fans were thrilled with his new studio album called Old Shoes. And who doesn’t love seeing a new Deep Purple album on the new releases shelf in the record store? If you can find a record store.
