Our Best Rock Albums of 2009 list presents a year of rock albums that saw the premier of Chickenfoot and a stunning debut by singer Diane Birch. Coming out of nowhere, singer and songwriter Diane Birch released an album of songs that echoed the sound and spirit of 1960s r&b classics with the heart of an early 70s singer-songwriter. And speaking of singer-songwriters, Bruce Springsteen continued his string of amazing 21st-century albums with the release of his stunning Working On A Dream album. Standing right beside him was Bob Dylan proving that there was no stopping him from continuing to release album after album of new classics.  Also on board was another killer album by Ireland’s famed U2 band.

One of our favorite albums of the year was released by New York’s own Willie Nile with his exhilarating House Of A Thousand Guitars record. New albums were also released by more of the old guard with Neil Young releasing his yearly new album alongside new records by Lynyrd Skynyrd, Cheap Trick and John Fogerty. Classic rock artists just kept on rocking!
