Our Best Rock Albums of 2019 looks at a year in a rock and roll that saw the Who release their first studio album in thirteen years. Along for the ride in 2019 was another great release by Bruce Springsteen with an original studio album that paid tribute to the sounds and styles of early 1970s singer-songwriters like Jimmy Webb and Glen Campbell. Yet, if there was one thing to take from 2019 it was the celebration of blues rockers who released a ton of great albums. From old-timers like John Mayall to the new breed of blues rockers like Samantha Fish, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, the sensational Tedeschi Trucks Band and the phenomenal Beth Hart, blues rock dominated much of 2019 on the classic rock end.
2019 also saw many legendary rock bands and artists continuing to release new studio albums like the popular UK band Status Quo who released their 33rd studio album and the legendary Beatle, Ringo Starr releasing his twentieth studio album. We also can’t fail to mention that the red rocker Sammy Hagar delivered another dynamic hard rocking album with his band the Circle called Space Between.
